May at CoWork Co

6f8d3be3-fb7f-4098-9a7d-b2a34c9cbdf5It’s a fab month coming up with lots of new happenings.

CoCONNECT:

First cab off the rank is our new CoCONNECT membership designed for all the northside home based creatives and professionals keen to join our community and broaden their horizons who aren’t after frequent coworking just yet.

There are two options:
1. The whole shebang – $50 p/month
2. The whole shebang plus 2 days coworking a month – $100 p/month

What’s included:
CoTALKS – monthly talks with northside creatives on life and business. Each month 10-11am on the 1st Wednesday

CoTALKS are free for studio members and we’d love you to join us too. In June we’ve got Jess Viscarde from Eclectic Creative – and an inspiring lineup for the months ahead

CoNOSH – monthly foodie gatherings for studio members 12-1pm on the 3rd Friday each month.

Connect with each other over grazing tables from local foodie haunts like Moroccan Deli-cacy and the odd themed pot luck lunch (Game of Thrones anyone?)

CoDIRECTORY – our super new online directory of all the best small businesses this side of the river. Your biz profile page on our website to promote your services to our community and beyond

CoCARD – The CoworkCo’s new discount card for studio members, with sweet offers from northside businesses like The Boroughs Store, My Mountain and Hound and Bone.

If you’re keen to sign up ahead of our May 1st launch hit reply to this email and you can sneak in for 20% off forever!

So what else is happening?

Well, we’re launching something I’ve been planning for quite a while…
CoSCHOLARSHIPS – we love supporting people doing amazing things and the best way we can do that is by offering them a place at our table and the benefit of our community. Each month we’ll select one ‘Good Do-er’ to receive a 2 day a week membership for 3 months. Our first recipient is super excited to be starting in May.
We’ll have info on how you can nab yourself a Co-SCHOLARSHIP on the website from May 1st.

We’ve decided on a new mission – to be the best boutique coworking studio in the country and that means great things for you…

ae1137a3-2554-4e8e-bcb3-e782dbb397e3We’re hosting Solo Au-Go-Go our solo biz fiesta in August for the Victorian Small Business Festival and thought a practice run might be fun.
Sun May 8th 2-5pm

Biota by Design & Other and Darren Song

b70bff32-91db-4aeb-b2e8-f02ba5505a49 05 ~ 15 May
Opening Thursday 05 May, 6 – 9pm

Biota, by Design & Other (Cameron Lofthouse and Monica Placella) in collaboration with Darren Song is a series of works on paper exploring form, colour and shape.

The merging of D&O’s pixelated silkscreen prints and Song’s intricate thread atop paper result in vivid tactile landscapes. Deconstructed elements of flora and their surrounds are interlaced with hand stitched zoomorphic designs.

Singapore born Darren Song moved to Melbourne to study Communication Design in 2003, and now works as a senior designer/art director. During his spare time, he stitches on paper and other old ephemera. His stitchings have been featured in art and design blogs and magazines. Stitch by stitch; layers upon layers, his works call for patience, allowing beauty of imperfection, or simply… thread on paper.

Design & Other is a creative partnership between Melbourne-based designers Cameron Lofthouse and Monica Placella. Founded in 2009, the ongoing project places an emphasis on independence, fluidity and collaboration and has seen Lofthouse and Placella complete a wide span of projects both locally and abroad. Their work merges computer-based and handmade design processes and investigates the interface between art and design practice.
