Beginner embroidery workshop

Karhina Studio – Caulfield North – Sunday 6 July – 10.00 – 3.30pm

Interested in learning the art of hand embroidery? Would you like to embellish your clothes and home with your own hand embroidery like those you see on Instagram?

This beginner hand embroidery workshop gives you all the introductory skills to be stitching your own designs. You will be introduced to many easy and decorative stitches to embroider.

During the workshop, you will be working on a simple embroidery sampler design created for the workshop or you can create your own design if you prefer. This workshop runs for a full day and is suitable for a beginner. It covers the basics of embroidery, including a great variety of hand embroidery stitches and techniques.

Included in the class fee you will receive an embroidery kit with an embroidery hoop, embroidery scissors, DMC threads, calico, needles, felt to make your own needle case and a booklet of stitches, along with a light vegetarian lunch.

Mending, Darning and Needle-felting workshop

Karhina Studio – Caulfield North – Sunday 20 July – 12.30 – 4.30pm

Come along to this four hour workshop we will cover mending woven items, darning your knits and needle-felting. You will learn to mend your clothes to make them as individual as you

A relaxing and fun workshop to learn how to make the clothes you love last.  You will learn to repair and embellish your clothing making them a delight to wear again. 

Your Grandparents would have known how to make things around the home and their clothes last by repairing and remaking. In this workshop you will be shown traditional repair skills which enable you to add contemporary flair to patching and darning your clothes. Mending can become an opportunity for wonderful decoration as well as saving money and reducing the amount of clothing going to landfill.

You will receive a special mending kit valued at over $30.00 to take home which includes small needle-felting kit, some fabric patches and a marking pencil

Preston Library – 266 Gower St, Preston – Wednesday 16 July – 2 – 4pm

Do you have a favourite piece of clothing that is looking the worst for wear? In this workshop you will learn how to create one-off patches to repair them.  You will be creating your own embroidered sew-on patches using recycled textiles. 

Suitable for both beginners and experienced stitchers alike.

The sessions offer a fantastic creative experience, are value for money and lots of fun. All workshops are designed to suit beginners to advanced crafts people.
