A UFO left by my mother

Brunswick, Victoria,

Tis the season to finish the last of my Mother’s UFO’s (unfinished objects). This has been sitting in my UFO basket since 2014. New decade has given me inspiration to finish past decades projects and start afresh. Now onto my UFO’s! 🧵✂️🧶 #embroidery #ufos #infinishedprojects #newdecade #slowstitch #babyclothes #freshstart #motherswork #brunswick #creative #handstitching #crochet #scallopedging #embroideryworkshop

Sashiko Mending Kit

Brunswick, Victoria,

Thrilled to offer these new Sashiko Mending Kits on my website. Ready to get repairing all your favourite clothes in time for the Sustainable Living Festival in Melbourne in February. ♻️
I love that I’m able to take these denim scraps from my studio to create pouches to make these tool kits. It moves my studio one step closer towards zero waste and honours the resources required to make them originally. I think they are useful, sustainable, and beautiful pouches for storing your mending tools. A win, win.
♻️
These kits are filled with some of my favorite mending tools – 100% cotton Sashiko threads (great for mending denim), a packet of Clover Sashiko needles, a beautiful leather sashimi thimble made by me from scrap leather offcuts, a fabric pencil, six quilting pins to make sure your patches stay in place while you stitch, eight fabric patches in various weights and colours and instructions to tie it all together. All are carefully sourced with as little plastic packaging as possible.
♻️
I’ve made just 12 of these kits as a special small batch. I make things myself as I want them to be special but I also want them to be useful. That perfect spot in sustainable design. They are available on the website now along with my other new kits – Sashiko Retro, Darning and Needlefelting. Enjoy!
♻️
